What does being a broker mean?
A mortgage broker means an individual who negotiates, originates, or offers or attempts to negotiate or originate for a borrower, and for a commission or other thing of value, a loan to be consummated and funded by a mortgage lender.
On and after January 1, 2007, all mortgage brokers conducting business in this state must be registered with the Division of Real Estate pursuant to HB06-1161. Part of the registration requirement includes a fingerprint-based criminal
history record check that must be completed through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and received by the
Division of Real Estate in order to be registered. We must also have a surety bond maintained at $25,000 for each broker.
We are a Registered Mortgage Broker with the State of Colorado Divison of Real Estate. We practice under the new Colorado law and licese numbers can be searched under the name of each broker who process your loan, and happily provided on request.
